حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، قَالَ: مَا تَعَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ الْقُرْآنَ ثُمَّ نَسِيَهُ إِلَّا بِذَنْبٍ»، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ الضَّحَّاكُ: ” {وَمَا أَصَابَكُمْ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ} [الشورى: ٣٠] “، ثُمَّ قَالَ الضَّحَّاكُ: «وَأَيُّ مُصِيبَةٍ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ نِسْيَانِ الْقُرْآنِ
Waki’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Rawwad, from ad-Dahhak who said: “A man does not learn the Qur’an and then forgets it except due to a sin.” Then ad-Dahhak recited: “{And whatever strikes you of disaster – it is for what your hands have earned}” [Surah Ash-Shura: 30]. Then ad-Dahhak said: “And what disaster could be greater than forgetting the Qur’an?”
