Loving The Beloved of Allah ﷺ
Loving The Noble Messenger of Allah ﷺ is true Imaan. The perfection of one’s faith can only be achieved when one loves the Noble Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than their parents, wives, children, wealth and even more than themselves. It is recorded in Sahih al Bukhari Abdullah ibn Hisham reported: We were with The Noble Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he ﷺ was holding the hand of Sayyidina Umar ibn Al-Khattab radiAllahu anhu . Sayyidina Umar r.a said to The Noble Messenger of Allah ﷺ, “O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than everything but myself.” The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Umar said to Him, “O Allah’s Apostle! You are dearer to me than everything except my own self.” The Prophet said, “No, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, (you will not have complete faith) till I am dearer to you than your own self.” Then ‘Umar said to him, “However, now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than my own self.” The Prophet said, “Now, O ‘Umar, (now you have complete faith) In another narration by Sayyidina Anas radiAllahu anhu The Noble Prophet ﷺ said “None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind.” (Bukhari) The Noble Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith: 1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle are dearer to him than anything else. 2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah’s sake. 3. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire.” (Bukhari)
Sayyiduna Ali Karam Allahu Wajhahu & His Obedience To The Noble Messenger ﷺ
Sayyidah Asma radiAllahu anha narrated: ‘Revelation was being sent to Prophet ﷺ and his head was on the Lap of Sayyiduna Ali radiAllahu anh, and he had not prayed Asr and soon the sun was setting. The Noble Prophet ﷺ asked: O Ali (r.a) ‘have you prayed?, He r.a replied: ‘No’. At this The Noble Prophet ﷺ made a plea in the court of Allah: ‘O Lord He (Ali) was busy in obedience of You and Your Messenger ﷺ , return the sun back for him’ Sayyidah Asma r.a said: ‘I had seen the Sun being set but then I saw it rising back again and daylight became visible on mountains and land. This incident took place near Khaybar. (Tafsir Qurtubi, Ibn Kathir’s Al Bidaya wa’Nihaya)
To Be With The Prophet ﷺ
It is related that a man came to The Noble Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allahﷺ, I love you more than my family and my possessions. I remember you and I cannot wait until I can come and look at you. I remember that I will die and you will die and I know that when you enter the Garden, you will be raised up with the Prophets (alayhimus Salaam). When I enter it, I will not see you.” Allah Ta’ala then revealed:
وَمَن يُطِعِ اللّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَـئِكَ رَفِيقًا
“Whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger, will be with those whom Allah has blessed: the Prophets, the men of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And such people are the best of company!” (Quran 4:69)
The Prophet called the man and recited the verses to him.
We ask Allah….
We ask Allah (Exalted and Generous is He) to grant us true love of The Beloved of Allah ﷺ and to keep us under the special gazes of The Noble One ﷺ. May we be with The Noble Prophet ﷺ in al Jannah and may we never waver from His ﷺ love… Ameen al Fatiha!
The Love Of The Prophet is Safety & Security
Sayyiduna Abdullah radiAllahu anh would be brought to the Noble Prophet ﷺ when he would drink alcohol after it had been prohibited by Allah Ta’ala, when he would be brought in The Noble Presence of The Best of Creation ﷺ he would be punished accordingly. Once such time he was brought again on the same charge and a man amongst them said: ‘”O Allah, curse him! How frequently he has been brought (In The Presence of The Noble Prophet ﷺ on such a charge)!” The Merciful Prophet ﷺ said, “Do not curse him, for, by Allah, I know he loves Allah and His Apostle.”
You Will Be With The One You Love!
Sayyiduna Anas radiAllahu anhu mentions ‘A man asked The Noble Prophet ﷺ about the Hour (The Day of Judgment) asking “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ‘When will the Hour be?’ The Noble Prophet ﷺ said, ‘What have you prepared for it?’ The man said, “Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostleﷺ.” The Noble Prophet ﷺ said, “You will be with those whom you love.” We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (‘You will be with those whom you love’) Therefore, I (Sayyidina Anas r.a) love The Noble Prophet ﷺ, Sayyidina Abu Bakr radiAllahu anhu and Sayyidina ‘Umar radiAllahu anhu, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them even though my deeds are not similar to theirs. (Bukhari)
Loving The Ahlul Bayt (Alayhimus Salaam)
Imam Ali radiAllahu anh said that The Noble Messenger of Allah ﷺ took Imam Hasan radiAllahu anh and Imam Husayn radiAllahu anhu by the hand and said, “Whoever loves me and loves these two and their father and mother will have the same degree as me on the Day of Rising.” (Tirmidhi)
